Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
