Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the league office.

The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.

Player's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
