An individual of Australian nationality that leaped over a barricade and grabbed actress Ariana Grande has been deported and banned from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was sentenced to nine days in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the country's border control stated to news outlets.

The man shoved through camera crews and approached aggressively the actress and singer, who was participating in the regional launch for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The pop star has mentioned experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her concert in the UK city in May 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the movie's debut on two occasions, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to cross the barriers. Protection personnel intercepted him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities arrested him the next day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The District Judge Christopher Goh was quoted by a news outlet as saying that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was mistaken to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not commented on the incident.

The co-star spoke about the event to NBC, saying that she "simply desired to verify my friend was secure."

"I think he had no intention to us harm, but you can't predict with those things, and I sought to confirm that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she stated.
