Canada's MLB team advanced to their first championship series since 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive game seven of the American League Championship Series.

Behind 3-1, Springer hit a three-run homer in the seventh, leading the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 victory in the seven-game series. They will now face the Dodgers, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.

"It's incredible for everyone here, our city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now connected for twenty-three playoff homers, making him third all-time trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that moment other than him with his post-season brilliance," remarked manager John Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the early in the series, are still the sole team that has never reached in a championship series.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "there's no question that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their work in the campaign.

"This is a unique group. Sadly that we finished on the wrong side of this one," he continued.

Toronto claimed the title on both previous visits in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on this Friday.
